Rashford and Sancho start: confirmed Manchester United line-up vs Watford

Manchester United are back in action today and will be looking to end their disastrous run in the Premier League, having just won one out of their last six games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure to keep his job at the helm of the Old Trafford club, with scrutiny on the Norwegian at an all-time high.

His side has accumulated just 17 points from their opening 11 games in the Premier League, including heavy defeats against rivals Liverpool and Manchester City. There is, however, a chance to turn things around on Saturday when as they gear up to face Watford.

Marcus Rashford, who was a second-half substitute against Manchester City two weeks ago, is in the team after pulling out of England duty to focus on getting back to full fitness.

SN’s verdict on Manchester United’s XI vs Watford…
Claudio Ranieri’s side will be well versed in Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence and what that means in terms of stopping United but Van de Beek’s exclusion aside, there aren’t many surprises from Solskjaer.

Jadon Sancho has been offered a chance to put his early woes behind him with a start – the 21-year-old has struggled so far but is in the Manchester United side against his boyhood club.

The main talking point is Van de Beek’s no-show. Ahead of the game, there were reports of the midfielder impressing in training and that a start was in the pipeline. The 24-year-old has been made to wait for his breakthrough yet again, however.
