Newcastle United approach Man United for out-of-favour midfielder

According to recent reports, Newcastle United have made a formal approach to Manchester United in the hope of signing midfielder Donny van de Beek.

That’s according to a recent claim from the Transfer Exchange Show, who claims that following their blockbuster £305m takeover, van de Beek is wanted by the Magpies.

Van de Beek has struggled since his arrival from Ajax over 18-months ago.

Despite being signed by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the versatile Dutch playmaker has started just four Premier League matches.

With the midfielder now set to depart the Red Devils if his playing time does not improve once the January transfer window opens, Newcastle United appear to have positioned themselves at the front of the queue.

It has been claimed that the Geordies are offering United £25m but the club’s hierarchy would prefer to loan him rather than sell him permanently.
