Manchester United will be happy to come away with a point from their trip to Atalanta in the Champions League. The Reds equalised twice on the night as the game finished 2-2.
Don’t be fooled by how Cristiano Ronaldo’s brilliant brace moved us from 3rd to 1st in Group F because the performance overall was poor.
Eric Bailly looked like a one-man defence at times and he was caught for Atalanta’s second goal, and not helped by Harry Maguire being all over the place.
A big get out a jail card tonight.
Ronaldo proved at the very end, yet again, why he is still the best. Right when it looked like United would suffer another abysmal result.
You could go as far as to say he’s gone some distance to help save Solskjaer job, with all eyes now on Saturday’s Manchester derby.
But the defence must improve if we’ve any chance of getting something from that game.
Hopefully Raphael Varane’s injury isn’t too serious.
Check out how United fans on Twitter reacted to tonight’s result:
Another escapologist act from United. A draw was always going to be a positive point here and they've got it. Bailly excellent and Ronaldo remarkable. #mufc

We need to go 3-4-3 if we’re playing a back-three because Sancho is way too good to be leaving him out. Donny did really well when he came on too.

Maguire has been horrific, absolutely ridiculous how often it’s reoccurred this season so far

The majority of United's deep midfield minutes are played by McTominay, Fred, and Pogba, players with obvious weaknesses receiving and releasing in first phase, and they consistently do nothing to help mitigate the weaknesses of those players in buildup

Got out of jail. Absolutely shocking performance. There has to be a big change of attitude.

I’ll take that point all day long, we deserved nothing from the game. Bailly was top notch!

My heart is going to give out one day, I love the excitement of every game.
