Raphael Varane has handed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a timely boost ahead of this weekend’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur as the France international has returned to training.

The 28-year-old has missed the last three games through injury, having originally sustained the problem playing for France in the UEFA Nations League final earlier this month.

He will, however, be available for selection against Tottenham on Saturday as club pictures confirm his return to training, as seen below.

Harry Maguire’s dramatic drop in form since this summer’s European Championship has led to some fans questioning the captain, with the last two games against Liverpool and Leicester typifying his slow start to the season.

Varane could come in for the England international, with Lindelof expected to line up next to him if Maguire is dropped.
