More leaks from the Manchester United dressing room.
After leaving Old Trafford on Sunday, I said it to several fans in mid conversation that some players would come out and point the finger at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer within days, by briefing their version of events to members of the press.
We already know that Paul Pogba’s future is in doubt and his approach to causing a storm for publicity is one the club should be wary of, as with any of Mino Raiola’s clients, but ultimately it was the club that decided to go into the final year of his current contract without opting to cash in last summer.
The Sun claims Pogba apologised to his team-mates on Sunday, after coming on at half-time before losing possession for Liverpool’s fifth goal and being sent off for a reckless challenge on Naby Keita, but the midfielder did not speak to Solskjaer after the match.
Pogba ought to be ashamed for his sheer and unless carelessness against the Scousers.
Back in January, the manager said he’s never had an issue with Pogba, who he speaks openly and directly with. He also praised for Frenchman for being up front and honest but now there are reports of a clear breakdown in relationship.
“My job is to be open and honest with him. I’ve never had a problem with him,” Solskjaer said, as per The Guardian. “I talk openly and directly with Paul. I’m not going to tell anyone what my advice to him is but I have always had a good relationship with him. He comes from a great family, he’s a very sensible boy and he knows what I’m talking about when we speak.
“He’s up front and honest with me too. And what people don’t see with Paul is even when he isn’t playing, he’s contributed loads in the background. Sometimes he’s even acted as the interpreter between me and different players – even when he isn’t playing. He always respects my decisions and we’ve always had a very good working relationship.”
They’ve known each other from Pogba’s time in the youth academy and it has never felt like there were pre-existing issues between the pair… until now, if The Sun’s report is to be believed.
Time will tell but it is never a good sign when vindictive leaks are coming out of the dressing room.
Solskjaer will be well aware of Pogba’s popularity in the dressing room, too, even if it looks like he will leave for free in the summer.
You’re trying to paint Pogba black out of the whole rubbish on Sunday. This article is tendentious and inciting. Why should he be ashamed of himself? Why don’t say that about the first team that conceded 4 before his entrance? Please!
