Manchester United join rivals by eyeing up move for £76m Real Sociedad striker

Reports suggest Manchester United are eyeing another Swedish goalscorer to join the attacking department at Old Trafford.

We all remember Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the impact he had in Jose Mourinho’s side. He was a class act and it will forever feel like a shame he didn’t sign for Manchester United earlier in his career.

But now United and Man City are reportedly set to go head-to-head for the signing of Alexander Isak, who impressed at Euro 2020 in the summer after scoring 17 goals in La Liga last season.

Although Isak plays for La Liga leaders Real Sociedad, the Swede has yet to score a goal this term.

According to Fichajes, United and City are at the front of the queue for Isak’s signature.

The striker is under contract until 2026, but he has a release clause reportedly worth £76 million (via FourFourTwo).

I highly doubt Anthony Martial or Edinson Cavani will be at the club next season, so it wouldn’t surprise me if United went out and signed another goalscorer.

A midfield must be on top of the priority list, mind.
