Manchester United have been handed a boost ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Atalanta. Ivorian winger Amad will be hoping to get some minutes against his former side and he has yet to feature for the Reds this season.

The boost itself doesn’t come from within our own ranks, though, with it stemming from Atalanta’s injury problems going into the match.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Atalanta have been dealt fresh injuries ahead of their trip to Old Trafford, with four players picking up knocks in recent times.

Atalanta’s full injury list, however, contains five players.

The standout absentee is Robin Gosens, who many will remember as a star for Germany at Euro 2020. He sustained an injury in Atalanta’s last Champions League fixture against Young Boys in September and has yet to recover.

They are also without Matteo Pessina, Berat Djimsiti and Rafael Toloi.

Hans Hateboer is a long-term absentee and won’t be available for selection until next month but they’ve still got quality players like Duvan Zapata, Josip Ilicic and Luis Muriel.
