Ronald Koeman targets Man Utd midfielder for Barcelona transfer – report

Barcelona could be about to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to reports. The former Ajax star is growing increasingly unlikely to feature regularly under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and could instead leave the club in January.

Van de Beek was close to joining Everton last month on deadline day but an agreement with the Merseyside club collapsed at the 11th hour, with the player ending up staying at Old Trafford instead.

Now, there are reports from Spain claiming Ronald Koeman is looking to add to his young midfield this winter, with Van de Beek one of the names under consideration.

That’s according to Catalan outlet Sport, via Sports Mole, who say that Koeman is aware of Van de Beek’s issues at Manchester United and could offer him a lifeline in the next transfer window. Van de Beek is yet to start a league game this season and only started four last season.

Koeman and Van de Beek have worked together in the past, with the former Southampton manager regularly picking him for the Netherlands national side.
