England have taken the lead against Andorra in their World Cup qualifier, with Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell latching on to a pass from Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
The 21-year-old has endured a difficult start to life in Manchester but was offered the chance to rediscover that sparkling form he showed in Germany and Sancho has immediately repaid the confidence shown in him.
Phil Foden’s diagonal pass found Sancho, who took his time in controlling the ball before laying it off to Chilwell, and the Chelsea star could make no mistake with the goal at his mercy.
What a moment for @BenChilwell! 🤩
The @ChelseaFC defender had to wait for a lengthy VAR review… but he has his first @England goal 🙌

The goal was initially ruled out for offside but after a lengthy VAR check, the goal was given after Sancho was deemed to be onside.
England were dominant in the first 20 minutes of the game and that theme is likely to continue for the rest of the evening. Jesse Lingard, who has been involved in both England camps this season, is also playing.
