Manchester United are interested in €55m-valued AC Milan star – report

Manchester United strengthened their team significantly over the summer, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane all filling positions desperately in need of addressing.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified the areas as weaknesses in his side but no efforts were made to sign a central midfielder, with the Norwegian manager persisting in his trust of Scott McTominay and Fred.

AC Milan’s Franck Kessie is one of Serie A’s hottest products and with less than one year remaining on his contract at the San Siro, some of Europe’s biggest clubs could be starting to circle the Ivorian. The 24-year-old is a mainstay in AC Milan’s side and is rated at a whopping €55m by Transfermarkt.

According to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, via Spazio Milan, Manchester United are studying the possibility of replacing Paul Pogba with Kessie.

According to the report, contract negotiations between AC Milan and Kessie have stalled, with the player asking for an annual salary of €8m, whilst the club is refusing to budge on their €6.5m offer.

Reports of interest are yet to be backed up by domestic publications from Manchester United’s point of view but on a free transfer, bringing Kessie to the club would be seen as good business.
