(Video) Bruno Fernandes reacts to ‘almost perfect’ Manchester United performance

The second anniversary of Bruno Fernandes joining Manchester United is coming up later this season but with every game, supporters are reminded of the superstar they acquired from Sporting in 2020.

The midfielder joined with great expectations but has exceeded them all. Fernandes scored a hattrick in the Premier League curtain-raiser against Leeds just under four weeks ago and he was at his brilliant best once again when Newcastle made the short trip to Old Trafford.

If there were any doubts over whether he could play with Cristiano Ronaldo and be effective, they were swiftly cast aside today as he helped guide his side to consecutive wins.

“I think it was almost perfect,” Fernandes told reporters, as seen below. “If we don’t concede a goal, it would be perfect. We are really happy, we score four goals. The performance, in general, was really good so everyone is really happy with the result.

“They are really organised, it’s difficult to get in. They play very well, they defend well. But we did our job right, we move the ball quick, we move side to side, wait for the right moment to hit them.”

Fernandes took his tally to four goals in as many games this season with an unstoppable 25-yard effort to seal the game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Despite travelling back from Azerbaijan earlier in the week, Fernandes was integral to United’s build-up play and looked comfortable despite having several new faces around him.

Next up for the brilliant Portuguese is a trip to Switzerland – the 27-year-old will be hoping to give United a winning start to their Champions League campaign.
