Queen Elizabeth orders 80 Cristiano Ronaldo jerseys from Manchester United

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo has swept Manchester United supporters off their feet but evidently, the jubilant emotion is not limited to the Old Trafford faithful.

The 36-year-old was confirmed as Manchester United’s fourth and final signing of the summer on deadline day as he completes a sensational return to the club, having initially departed to Real Madrid in 2009.

Ronaldo wore the No7 jersey during his six years at the club but his shirt number is yet to be confirmed this time around. Despite the uncertainty over his digits, according to Sport Innovation Society, as seen below, Queen Elizabeth has ordered 80 Ronaldo jerseys for the Royal Court.

Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth has also personally requested Manchester United to reserve the first jersey signed by the player. Typically, the club will set up a raffle whenever a new signing is unveiled but according to reports, the first one is going to the Royal Family.

Update – After initially making the claim, Sport Innovation Society have now deleted the tweet after they could not confirm the veracity of the note from Queen Elizabeth. We apologise for any inconvenience.
