Fabrizio Romano confirms Man United out of race to sign La Liga defender

According to a recent report from leading football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have decided to pull out of the running to sign Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier.

That’s according to the Italian’s recent transfer column for Benchwarmers, where he has claimed that Trippier will not be moving to Old Trafford following the Red Devils’ decision to keep hold of Diogo Dalot.

Trippier, 30, has been relentlessly linked with a switch to United, however, despite seemingly keen to secure a move back to the Premier League, the England international will need to find an alternative destination, or admit defeat and remain in Spain for at least another season.

Similarly to Trippier, Dalot has also seen his name linked with a summer switch.

The Portuguese full-back had seemed close to joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, however, following a late decision to retain the young defender’s services, United’s transfer plans now appear to have been reassessed.
