Kieran Trippier prefers Manchester United to Arsenal

I mean, who in the right mind would choose to join Arsenal over Manchester United right now? It looks like Mikel Arteta could be the first Premier League manager to get the axe this season, while Manchester United look set to improve following the additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Eurosport claims Arsenal are ready to step up their interest in Atletico Madrid and England full-back Kieran Trippier, who left Tottenham before moving to Spain and winning La Liga, but the player would prefer a move to Manchester United.

The Gunners are looking to sign a new right-back before next week’s transfer deadline, with Hector Bellerin pushing for a move elsewhere, and it sounds like they’ve had discussions over signing the former Spurs man.

According to the report in question, however, Arsenal are not willing to meet Atletico Madrid’s asking price of £34m but will try other methods to structure a favourable deal.

It sounds like a waste of time – with Trippier’s head supposedly turned by interest from Old Trafford.

We could see a 3-4-3 formation this season if Trippier comes in before the deadline.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a better defender but there is no denying Trippier would offer a lot more in the final third.

  1. Fed up of listening about Trippier, we don’t need him what we do need is a replacement for Fred and that is Saul Niguez who if w3 don’t act will end up at Liverpool.
