Fulham set sights on out of favour Manchester United defender

Rumours suggest Fulham are interested in Manchester United defender Phil Jones.

According to a 90Min report, Fulham are among a handful of Championship clubs interested in signing Jones this season on loan.

Stretty News brought you a scoop yesterday with senior source information suggesting that the centre-half has little interest when it comes to playing in the second tier of English football, despite struggling to prove he can stay fit at Manchester United.

Jones, 29, has fallen down the pecking order at United and Rio Ferdinand thinks he should move on to guarantee more game time elsewhere. That would be difficult, though, given his track record with injuries.

And because of that, Jones is more likely to leave United on loan than permanently.

The Championship outfit has started the new Championship season well under newly appointed manager Marco Silva. A couple of good signings before deadline day could only enhance their chances of being promoted to the Premier League.

I think it would be a good move for Jones as a chance to prove his fitness with a team he is more likely to get game time.

The Daily Mail claims Jones could stay at United as part of Solskjaer’s plans.

That would be a result of not being able to re-home the defender.
