Manchester United midfielder joins Dundee United on loan

Dundee United have confirmed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Dylan Levitt on a season-long loan deal.

The plan for this season will be for Levitt to experience more first-team football after gaining incredibly valuable experience while representing Wales at Euro 2020.

Levitt has spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic and Istra but is looking for his first real break on the club stage in the Scottish Premiership during the 2021/22 campaign.

The Welsh midfielder could face one of his Old Trafford teammates if he makes his debut against St Johnstone on Sunday, where Reece Devine has been sent on loan.

A statement from Dundee United reads: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of midfielder Dylan Levitt on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

“The 20-year old, who has also spent time at Charlton Athletic and Istra 1961 in Croatia, is a full Welsh international having made nine appearances for his country and was included in Wales’ 26-man squad for UEFA Euro 2020.

“Subject to international clearance, Dylan will be available for inclusion in Sunday’s matchday squad and will wear the number 19 this season.”

We’ll be keeping a keen eye on how Levitt gets on in Scotland because he is a player Ryan Giggs clearly rates.

There’s also an opportunity for midfielders to get into the first team at present, especially with United still lacking in the department and crying out for a holding midfielder.
