Man United midfielder edging closer to joining Flamengo on season long loan

Despite bringing Old Trafford to their feet during pre-season after scoring a stunning volley against Brentford, according to recent reports, Manchester United are preparing to bid farewell to midfielder Andreas Pereira.

That’s according to a recent report from Manchester Evening News journalist Tyrone Marshall, who has claimed the Red Devils are close to reaching an agreement with Brazilian side Flamengo, which would see Pereira join them on a season-long loan.

Pereira, 25, has been at United since he joined their youth academy from PSV all the way back in 2012.

However, despite arriving with the expectation to develop into a leading Premier League midfielder in the future, the 25-year-old’s time at Old Trafford has failed to live up to its earlier hype.

Struggling to force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans, last season saw the South American midfielder loaned out to Serie A side Lazio.

Despite rejoining the Red Devils at the end of last season, the coming days could see the midfielder shipped out again – this time to join native club Flamengo.
