Everton make offer to sign Manchester United midfielder on loan

Everton have made an offer to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira on loan, according to reports. Pereira, who has featured heavily for the club in pre-season this summer, is said to be keen on a move away.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Lazio but any hopes of an extension to that arrangement seem to have gone with the departure of coach Simone Inzaghi, who instead moved to Inter earlier this summer.

Now, fellow Premier League club Everton are said to be interested in a move for Pereira. That’s according to TNT Sports, via Sport Witness, who claim that the Merseyside club are trying to sign Pereira on loan with an option to buy following a season-long stay. The offer is said to have come ‘a few days ago’.

It’s also claimed that Fenerbahce and Flamengo are interested in Pereira but that a permanent transfer, rather than a loan move, is desired by the Old Trafford hierarchy.

Despite consistently appearing in Solskjaer’s side this summer, Pereira is unlikely to pose a real threat to United’s current midfield options.
