Ethan Galbraith is closing in on a loan move to Doncaster Rovers.
The League One side is currently managed by former United academy product Richie Wellens and the move should grant Galbraith, a Northern Ireland international, the chance to play regular first-team football.
The latest news linking Galbraith with Doncaster comes from The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell.

Doncaster Rovers have already made four signings this summer with United connections – including the manager. The others include former United academy graduates Ro-Shaun Williams, Tommy Rowe and Aidy Barlow.
With Galbraith they are getting a versatile central midfielder who can also play at right-back, as seen during the first-team’s pre-season. He also captained the U23s on several occasions last season.
He will learn a lot from playing week-in week-out in League One, and next year there could be an even bigger step up as long as he continues to improve.
It bodes well that he’s already got a taste of international football.
