Manchester United right-back edging closer to Swansea move

Manchester United youngster and promising right-back Ethan Laird is edging closer to securing another loan move, this time to Championship outfit Swansea.

The 20-year-old made his first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2019/20 season and after some troublesome injuries, impressed in his half-season with MK Dons earlier this year.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Laird is on the brink of joining Swansea on a season-long loan ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Russell Martin, who brought the right-back to MK Dons in January this year, set his sights on Laird again and looks to have secured his target.

In the report by MEN, it’s claimed that Swansea are big admirers of Laird and consider him ready to make the step up to the Championship whilst Swansea sources have confirmed that the deal is expected to be completed this week.

Furthermore, some light was shed on Laird’s exclusion from this summer’s pre-season camp. Several youngsters were involved in United’s opening fixtures but Laird missed out due to injury.
