Manchester United pushing to sell first-team midfielder

Manchester United have been busy in the transfer market so far, securing the arrivals of both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, with Tom Heaton coming in before the pair.

There have, however, not been as many outgoings as one would have thought going into the summer. Andreas Pereira and Diogo Dalot, who both spent last season on loan away from the club, are both involved in pre-season.

The former in particular will find it very tough to realistically challenge for a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, and it’s now being reported that although loan inquiries have been made, Manchester United are pushing for a permanent sale of the first-team midfielder.

That’s according to The Athletic, who have provided an update on the situation amid interest from other clubs. It’s claimed that Lazio have asked to take Pereira back for another season-long loan but the Old Trafford hierarchy is said to be interested in getting the player off their books completely.

Fenerbahce are also believed to be interested in signing the player.
