Real Madrid prepared to grant Raphael Varane his Manchester United wish

Raphael Varane has reported to Real Madrid training and Fabrizio Romano stresses that the French defender will remain respectful until his last day at the club.

Transfer guru Romano believes Varane’s switch to Manchester United is edging closer and closer, with the two clubs working to complete the deal.

The biggest line from Romano’s tweet is Real Madrid have accepted that Varane wants to leave, with his wishes clear as MEN reported that personal terms wouldn’t be a problem.

On top of that, it doesn’t sound like they plan to play hardball over a deal, which is relief when you consider how United tend to drag their heels over transfer targets.

With Varane back in training, I suspect this will be a big week for the player’s future. He clearly wants a new challenge after spending 10 successful years at the Bernabeu.

Has anyone questioned why Varane is back with Madrid but Paul Pogba still hasn’t returned to United?
