After conceding four goals inside 20 minutes, Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga pulled one back with a fine strike from outside the area.
The young winger enjoyed a breakthrough in the senior team toward the end of last season as he started two games, scoring in the team’s final Premier League game of the season. In addition to fulfilling his dream to feature in the Premier League, the young Swede also featured for his country for the first time at U21 level.
Elanga did not start the encounter with Queens Park Rangers but came on at half-time and had two opportunities to score before finally getting on the scoresheet.

Results in pre-season should rarely be scrutinized but Elanga’s strike made the scoreline less embarrassing for the young Manchester United side. For large parts of the second half, the entire team consisted of players aged 23 or under. Only Juan Mata and Lee Grant were the players aged over 23.
