Manchester United submit contract offer to Bayern Munich star

Leon Goretzka has emerged as a shock target for Manchester United after failing to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich over a new contract. The midfielder is a regular starter for club and country but has had his future thrown in doubt after lengthy negotiations with his club.

Goretzka has less than one year remaining on his contract at Bayern Munich, which could mean that Manchester United are ready to swoop in for the midfielder should he not reach an agreement with the German side.

According to SportBILD, via The Sun, the midfielder’s camp is irritated that talks over fresh terms have not been concluded yet and that other clubs are ‘seriously getting involved’.

Manchester United are named as a possible destination for Goretzka and the publication even claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has submitted a contract offer superior to the one offered by Bayern Munich.

There is also precedent in the case – Goretzka ran his contract down three years ago when he left Schalke and if reports are to be believed, a similar story could be unfolding.
