Not done yet: Man Utd want to make two more ‘major’ signings

Although a formal announcement is yet to come, Manchester United are expected to complete the signing of Jadon Sancho imminently. The 21-year-old is the subject of a two-year-long transfer saga but after endless speculation, the former Manchester City youth player will commit to a five-year stay at Old Trafford.

The deal is expected to put United back £73m but according to new reports, the club will not stop there. Sancho will join Tom Heaton and become the club’s second acquisition of the summer and according to the Manchester Evening News, United want to bring in another two ‘major’ signings.

Furthermore, it is claimed in the report that Manchester United are ‘confident’ they will complete a deal to bring Raphael Varane to Old Trafford whilst Kieran Trippier, who remains a target, has made arrangements to return to England.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have received backing for the signing of Trippier and the former Tottenham and Manchester City defender even asked about the club during the England camp in March earlier this year.

  1. So you believe that a second choice right back is more important than a defensive midfielder?
A major signing would be an upgrade on Fred. Zakaria, Bissouma, Ndidi or Rice are a necessity and far more important than a second choice right back.
United will not win anything until that position is adequately filled.

  2. I don’t care about this rumors all I want is a done deal we don’t only need sancho we need raphael and tipper . We need a stronger defense this season and more of goals . All I want is that this season we must have at least 3 trophies it is not impossible but possible we determination and consistency . I love man u but when it come this rumors m tired of it.

  3. Totally agree with you, Mark. Zakaria and Yves Bissouma are necessary upgrades to our so called ” McFred ” duo. We need swashbuckling modern pivots who aren’t just content with sitting in middle field and passing back, or a few tackles here and there.
