Wolves loan offer for Dean Henderson rebuffed by Manchester United

David de Gea and Dean Henderson are both expected to be at Manchester United again for the 2021-22 season, according to reports.

The Athletic suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still have a selection headache between the sticks next season, which could easily see in the world’s highest paid goalkeeper sat on the bench at Old Trafford.

De Gea’s £375,000 per week contract will make it very difficult to find a buyer and many feel the only realistic destination this summer was Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Ligue 1 side have completed the signing of Euro 2020 winner Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The arrival of Tom Heaton at United could make matters more difficult for the manager because not only is he recognised as a top keeper, he really impressed while making his second debut for the club at the weekend against Derby County as the Reds got their pre-season underway.

Henderson also knows he could become an established starter elsewhere and The Athletic suggest Wolves had a loan enquiry rebuffed at the beginning of the summer. That backs up a previous report from Stretty News when we received information that Deano had received assurances about his future at Old Trafford.

Wolves are in the transfer market for a new keeper after losing Rui Patricio to Roma.
