Raphael Varane wants to start Man Utd training straight after holiday – report

Manchester United centre-back target Raphael Varane wants to immediately start training at the club after his holidays, according to reports. The Frenchman does not want to report into training at Real Madrid and would favour a quick transition into life at Old Trafford.

That’s according to Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst, who says that frustrations will start to grow if the defender has to start pre-season training with Real Madrid.

In the report, it is claimed that a deal late in July is preferable for Varane. Furthermore, Luckhurst writes that personal terms with the 28-year-old should be agreed upon with relative ease.

In another boost to Manchester United’s chances of landing their prime defensive target, it is claimed that sources would be ‘stunned’ if Varane doesn’t end up making the move from the Santiago Bernabeu to Old Trafford.

Varane, who is set to return from a month-long holiday next week, would ideally prefer to start training with his potentially new Manchester United teammates instead of having to go to Spain.
