Fabrizio Romano provides update on Roma’s pursuit of Alex Telles

Manchester United have no intention of allowing left-back Alex Telles to join Roma on loan.

That’s according to leading football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has recently confirmed that Jose Mourinho’s side would like to bring in the Brazilian full-back as a short-term replacement for the injured Leandro Spinazzola.

Having snapped his Achilles tendon while representing Italy in this summer’s delayed Euros 2020, Spinazzola is expected to be out of action for several months.

In an attempt to find suitable cover, recent reports had revealed Spinazzola’s club have earmarked United’s Telles.

However, according to Romano, while the Italian side may very well be interested in Telles, the Red Devils’ hierarchy are not open to the idea of seeing the South American play in Serie A next season.

Telles only joined United last summer after making the switch from Portuguese side Porto.

Since his arrival, he has featured in 24 matches, in all competitions, directly contributing to four goals, along the way.
