Former Man Utd midfielder says Fernandes and Pogba can help Camavinga develop

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer and although an official bid is yet to be lodged, it is believed that the club is interested in the France international.

The 18-year-old is tipped to become one of France’s biggest players in the coming years and with just one year remaining on his contract, Europe’s elite clubs are reportedly queuing up for his signature.

The prospect of losing their prized asset for nothing next year could force the French club into facilitating a sale this summer, with Manchester United reportedly one of the clubs interested.

Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick has insisted that Camavinga is ‘one for the future’ but that midfielders already at the club can help him develop.

“I expect he’s one for the future, someone who might not come into the team straight away, but training with Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek and others, would only help his development further,” Chadwick told CaughtOffside.

“Even if he’s only a bit-part player at first, coming off the bench, then at least he’s there for the long-term rather than for right here and now.”
