Fabrizio Romano shares update on Manchester United’s next priority

Manchester United plan to offer Bruno Fernandes a new contract this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, it is the club’s next priority after adding another top salary player with Jadon Sancho. That is unlikely to please fans who are stressing the importance of new signings on social media, but United should ensure that Fernandes stays for many years to come. Players like take always take priority.

Manchester United feel it’s the right time to progress in discussions and Romano expects updates this month.

There’s no denying a top class centre-back like Raphael Varane is required if we are to compete for the Premier League next season. United will also need to free up some wages by selling players.

Fernandes is definitely a player we want to have a long career at United, and we are sure that it won’t be long before he really starts demanding trophies. As a fan I want that type of atmosphere in the dressing room.

After all, the Portuguese midfielder is 26 now and he’s been at the club for almost two years. It’s time to deliver with a trophy because nobody can fault his return on the pitch.

Performances slacked towards the end of the season but, in my opinion, that had more to do with fatigue.
