Real Madrid eye Leicester City defender amid claims United want Varane

Leicester City centre-back, Wesley Fofana, has attracted interest from Real Madrid who are reportedly planning to replace world-class defender Raphael Varane.

Manchester United come into this because we are the club being heavily linked with a move for Varane, who we are being led to believe doesn’t want to sign a new contract at Real Madrid, where he has spent 10-years winning everything there is to win.

The Frenchman clearly wants a fresh challenge and after France suffered elimination at Euro 2020, we should see reports build pace, with claims today in Spain suggesting a total agreement has been reached between the two clubs.

Fofana could be the man to replace Varane at Real Madrid, as per The Sun, but the Spanish giants have just lost Sergio Ramos after his contract expired and will probably need to recruit a centre-back anyway. If they lose Varane on top of that they’re definitely going to be signing a defender.

Leicester City has been perceived as a selling club but they are hard negotiators. Madrid won’t get him cheap.
