Manchester United star included in Euro 2020 team of the round

Manchester United players are yet to see any of their players score at this summer’s European Championships this summer but there have been several standout performances. Victor Lindelof has impressed for Sweden, keeping two clean sheets are they ease towards the round of 16.

Paul Pogba put in a ‘star of the match’ performance against Germany in their opening group game, whilst Scott McTominay was one of the resilient defenders in Scotland’s 0-0 draw with England.

But perhaps more impressive than anyone else has been Daniel James. The young Welshman has endured a difficult second season at the club and has struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but remains a key figure for his national side.

The tricky winger’s tireless performances have helped Wales reach the knockout stages of the tournament for the second consecutive time and the former Swansea man has now been rewarded.

James was included in WhoScored‘s ‘team of the round’ for his impressive performance against Turkey, a 2-0 win which all but secured qualification for Rob Page’s side.

After the 1-0 loss to Italy on Sunday, it was also revealed that James has created more chances (8) than any other players at the Euro’s – a remarkable feat for the 23-year-old.
