Paris Saint-Germain register interest in Manchester United midfielder

Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on another Manchester United midfielder, according to reports. The French club signed Ander Herrera from the club in 2019 and could now be looking to swoop in to repeat the trick from two years ago.

This time, it’s Jesse Lingard who is reportedly the subject of interest from Mauricio Pochettino’s side. The 28-year-old’s sparkling form earned him two call-ups to Gareth Southgate’s England set-up and subsequent interest from other clubs.

Lingard is set to seek showdown talks with the club when the players return for pre-season preparations this summer, with a decision over his future not expected to be made until next month.

But according to Manchester Evening News, the Parisiens have ‘expressed interest’ in Jesse Lingard. The report also claims that Manchester United are interested in Lingard’s West Ham teammate Declan Rice, but that a swap deal is considered unlikely.

The 22-year-old has three years remaining on his contract and is a mainstay in David Moyes’ side, meaning that a deal would prove to cost United close to nine figures.
