According to recent reports, Manchester United are intrigued by the situation surrounding Manchester City’s Nathan Ake.
Ake, 26, joined City last summer following a £40.7m move from Bournemouth.
Although opting to team up with Pep Guardiola, there was earlier speculation that the Dutch defender may have emerged as a transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
During the latter parts of the 2019-20 season, while Ake was still at Bournemouth, Solskjaer was spotted on camera informing the defender that the Red Devils are on the lookout for a left-footed centre-back.
However, seemingly failing to follow their interest up with an official offer, Ake inevitably ended up moving elsewhere.
Since his arrival at the Etihad, things haven’t exactly gone to plan – having featured in just 13 matches, the 26-year-old now appears way down Guardiola’s pecking order.
Shockingly though, according to a recent report from the Sun, Solskjaer continues to remain interested in the defender and have added him to their defensive shortlist.
