Manchester United have edge over PSG in Kieran Trippier transfer battle

It sounds like Manchester United will dip into the transfer market for a new right-back.

The Red Devils reportedly have the edge over Paris Saint-Germain in a potential summer transfer battle for Atletico Madrid right back Kieran Trippier, as per The Athletic, with the England international proving he can do it in La Liga as well as the Premier League.

Atleti are currently leading the La Liga title race – remaining on top after a late winning goal from Luis Suarez last night.

The report claims that United were interested in Trippier back in January, and though they didn’t get a deal done at that time, they remain interested in him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Trippier could be a fine addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, giving United not only more experience but an attacking outlet on the right whenever the manager thinks he should rest Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He hasn’t got that problem now, nor has he cover at right back.

The Athletic add that his old manager Mauricio Pochettino wants him at PSG, but the player is eager to get back to the UK.
