Predicted Man Utd XI v Roma: Van de Beek deserves chance in Europa League semi-final

Manchester United are seeking a first trophy under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And there is no better opportunity with one foot already in the Europa League final, after beating AS Roma 6-2 in the first leg at Old Trafford last week.

Solskjaer is likely to make some changes to his United startling XI but he will want to avoid any unwanted surprises.

His team boasts a four-goal advantage heading to Rome, and we are huge favourites to progress to a final against either Arsenal or Villarreal.

The ultimate aim for Roma is to score four goals without conceding. We can’t see that happening.

Team News

Daniel James did not travel with the squad due to injury. The Wales international joins Anthony Martial and Phil Jones on the sidelines, however, Amad Diallo and Anthony Elanga are part of the 24-man squad.

Manchester United predicted XI

David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles; Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Bruno Fernandes; Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani.

I know many of you like to comment about the injustice surrounding Van de Beek, but I don’t think there is any to be brutally honest. He needs to adjust his game and show more when he’s on the pitch. Tonight would be a good opportunity to let him roam in midfield and do what he does best.
