Reports in France suggest Anthony Martial’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

According to L’Equipe, the Manchester United forward is already back training after a knee injury picked up on international duty, a month ago.

It doesn’t sound like he will be ready for this week’s games against Roma and Aston Villa, although he could be available to face Leicester City next Wednesday.

The belief from France is that Martial will have enough time to prove himself for the France squad ahead of the European Champions this summer.

That means the Frenchman should be ready in time for the Europa League final at the very least. But first, let’s put Roma away on Thursday night.

It hasn’t been a good season for Martial, with four Premier League goals to his name this term, as per WhoScored. That is not consistent enough for a player who should be expected to lead the line for United.

Hopefully Martial returns with fire in his belly.
