Report: Manchester United will chase £60m-rated Real Madrid centre-back this summer

Raphael Varane has been at Real Madrid for 10-years, so it might be time for something new.

The French centre-back has less than 18-months left on his current deal and Real Madrid have presumably began sweating under the collar.

With his future in Madrid uncertain, as per the Daily Mail, it sounds like Manchester United will finally go after their man, once the transfer window reopens.

It’s no secret that United need a new centre-back and that doesn’t bode well for Axel Tuanzebe, who has been able to have any impact on the team due to constant niggles and injuries. Meanwhile, Eric Bailly hasn’t been the answer and nor is Victor Lindelof.

In fact, there are some United fans uncertain about Harry Maguire but after costing the club and arm and leg, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will try to find a way to improve his captain’s performances.

It is claimed that Real Madrid’s French World Cup-winner could be available for around £60m, however, United’s board are hopefully they can negotiate that figure to a lesser fee.

United need to buy a top class centre-back this summer and I don’t think they will get better than Varane for £60m.
