Marcus Rashford generated predictable excitement on Twitter with a response concerning Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho.

United’s failed pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Sancho became the transfer saga of 2020 and the winger shares a close friendship with Rashford.

It therefore didn’t come as a surprise when Rashford’s answer on a Q and A session on social media on Monday night was Sancho when asked about his favourite Bundesliga player.

Rashford tagged his fellow England international in the tweet, initiating an obvious transfer demand from some perhaps overzealous supporters online.

Sancho has continued to flourish for Dortmund this term, netting 12 goals and contributing 16 assists.

The Manchester Evening News report that Sancho has been United’s ideal right-sided forward target for a number of years and the Reds have failed on three separate attempts to sign him.

It is unclear whether United will go back in with an offer for Sancho in this summer’s window, that is likely to be affected greatly by the coronavirus pandemic.

But some United fans on twitter took no time in responding to Rashford’s fuelling tweet, hoping Sancho finally makes the switch to Old Trafford.
