Anthony Martial potential doubt for Man United against Brighton after knee injury

Anthony Martial could be an injury doubt for Manchester United after the international break after picking up a knee injury for France in their victory over Kazakhstan.

The forward is back in favour under Didier Deschamps for France but was forced off hurt in Sunday’s World Cup qualifier victory.

According to RMC Sport, as per GFNF, Martial is unable to play any part in France’s next fixture against Bosnia on Wednesday.

That makes the 25-year-old a doubt for United’s return to Premier League action against Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

Martial appeared to feel discomfort in his left knee and this could be his latest injury setback after a hip problem in recent weeks.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope a possible absence against Bosnia would only be precautionary as his attacking options are limited right now.

Marcus Rashford withdrew from the England squad and returned to United to recover from his injury last week and Mason Greenwood also pulled out of the U21 camp.

United enter a crucial period after the international break with the Europa League quarter-final first-leg against Granada sandwiching the fixture against Brighton and a trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Martial’s fitness will be a concern for Solskjaer as the United boss needs his forwards firing as we enter a defining period in the season.
