Manchester United defender wins second successive player of month award

Luke Shaw has been rewarded for his excellent form with a second consecutive Manchester United player of the month award.

As confirmed by ManUtd.com, Shaw picks up the March prize ahead of fellow nominees Victor Lindelof and Dean Henderson after another stellar month at left-back.

The 25-year-old played a role in United beating AC Milan over two-legs in the Europa League and earned the man-of-the-match award in the narrow league victory against West Ham.

But the standout moment of the month for the ever-improving defender was his goal to double United’s lead at the Etihad as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men ended Manchester City’s long winning-streak.

Shaw’s tidy finish past Ederson was preceded by his own typical attacking ambition that he has shown all season.

Solskjaer has the best left-back in the league amongst his ranks at Old Trafford and Shaw is a clear contender for the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award alongside indispensable Bruno Fernandes.

Shaw is currently away on international duty with England and claimed an assist against Albania in his first appearance for his country since September 2018.
