Five Man United players unhappy with news Solskjaer set for new deal

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be offered a new long-term contract.

It was reported by ESPN recently that the Red Devils’ hierarchy are willing to forgive a potential failure to lift silverware and remain committed to Solskjaer.

In light of the news that the Norweigan is likely to continue his position as manager for the foreseeable, according to the Mirror, several players are unhappy with the impending decision.

The Mirror claims that defenders Eric Bailly and Brandon Williams are not happy with the news.

Despite still being part of Solskjaer’s core squad group, both players have seen their first-team chances restricted.

It has been claimed that while there is some uncertainty surrounding Bailly’s contract which expires next year, Williams is now set to leave the club in the summer, either permanently or on-loan.

In addition to Bailly and Williams, reportedly midfield duo Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek, as well as striker Anthony Martial, have been left disappointed to learn Solskjaer is set to stay.

Lingard is currently out on loan with West Ham and with next to no opportunities handed to him under Solskjaer, fans should probably expect the Englishman to move on permanently in the summer.

Elsewhere, van de Beek’s woes under Solskjaer have been well-documented and with the manager set to extend his stay, the Mirror claim the player is seeking a resolution over his long-term future.

And finally – Clearly out-of-favour and set to be replaced by a more natural striker, the Mirror believe forward Martial would have benefited from a new manager – something that isn’t going to happen now.
