Zlatan Ibrahimovic on course to return for second-leg v Man Utd

It sounds like AC Milan will have a stronger side to take on Manchester United on Thursday night at the San Siro.

They should have several players back for the Europa League showdown.

Theo Hernandes, Ante Rebic, Jakan Calhanoglu, and Jens Petter Hauge were all involved in the squad which took on Napoli after all four missed the first leg against United.

Milan fans will also want to see midfielder Ismael Bennacer fit too, but the biggest difference would come if Zlatan Ibrahimovic was fit to face his former club.

The Swede trained on Monday for the first time since his injury.

According to TMW, Ibrahimovic managed half a training session on his own before rejoining his teammates for the other half. The article states: “The Swede will try to grit his teeth to return to Stefano Pioli’s disposal.”

These are the types of games Ibrahimovic lives for and it would be an almighty task for our defence to keep him quiet on the night.

He may be 39 but Ibrahimovic could still have a huge impact on the tie. For Milan, they can leave a fitness test until the last minute because the second leg is at San Siro. If it was in Manchester they’d have less time due to making a decision before travelling.
