Video: Fabinho lucky to escape red card after reckless lunge on Greenwood at Old Trafford

The ref has blown for half-time with the scoreline even at 1-1 between Manchester United and Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth-round at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils showed character by coming back after going behind to a Mohamed Salah opener, as they’ve done time and time again throughout the season.

Mason Greenwood scored the equaliser after a stunning pass across the pitch from Marcus Rashford which split open the Liverpool defence.

It gives us something to build on in the second half and we need to if we’re to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

There was a moment before half-time that saw Brazil international Fabinho lucky to escape a red card for a foul on Greenwood.

The United forward was clear on goal had he got past Fabinho, but the Liverpool stand-in defender recklessly took him out with an ankle-high lunge.

Fabinho picked up a yellow card for stopping Greenwood getting in on goal, but the referee definitely missed a trick not sending him off.

What was Klopp saying about getting favoured treatment from officials?

Hopefully we can find a winning goal after the break!
