Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes almost combined for a glorious Manchester United fourth goal against Liverpool as they progressed through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Fernandes’ free-kick in the 78th minute secured United’s 3-2 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Reds will meet West Ham at Old Trafford in the next round after another decisive impact from their Portuguese talisman.
Cavani worked tirelessly throughout at Old Trafford and proved yet again that he provides the focal point Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s other striking options simply do not.
The Uruguayan forward was picked out in style by Fernandes as United chased a goal to put the game beyond doubt but was unlucky to clip the post with Alisson stranded.
