Marcus Rashford can equal Wayne Rooney’s seven-year long record vs Fulham

Marcus Rashford can equal a long-standing record currently held by Wayne Rooney when the Red Devils travel to London to face Fulham in Wednesday night’s domestic clash.

Recently retired from competitive action to take the managerial reins at Derby County, Rooney’s long-standing record of scoring in three consecutive matches in the country’s capital has not been beaten in nearly seven-years (November 2014).

However, as the Red Devils currently prepare to face-off against Scott Parker’s resolute Cottagers on Wednesday Night, forward Rashford has the oppotuntity to go level with Rooney.

Rashford, 23, is enjoying yet another decent campaign after scoring 14 times in 29 appearances in all competitions.

As Rashford prepares to continue his side’s title charge, should the 23-year-old score during Wednesday night’s clash in London, he’ll equal Rooney’s record with a chance to better it against Chelsea next month, as per MEN.

Rashford’s last two outings in the country’s capital saw him net against Crystal Palace during a 2-0 win in July 2020 which he later followed up with a goal against West Ham, also in the Premier League during a 3-1 win last December.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to name a strong line-up for his side’s domestic clash against Fulham with Rashford expected to feature.
