Two Manchester United players wanted by Premier League club in January

Manchester United have reportedly received an approach from Premier League outfit Sheffield United over both Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams.

There were suggestions from Sky Sports that French side Nice had been keen to take Jesse Lingard until the end of the season, but that move has stalled — and now Sheffield United appear to be interested in the midfielder who has rarely played this season.

According to Football Insider, Sheffield United have asked the Red Devils about the possibility of taking Lingard and Brandon Williams on loan.

I’m not sure what the future holds for Lingard but he’s not getting a look in at United and needs to consider his options.

Williams has time on his side to develop into a better player, but he won’t do that unless he gets game time, so a loan deal could be on the cards for the young full-back, who can play on both flanks.

Lingard started United’s FA Cup win over Watford and will hope to be part of the squad that faces Liverpool in the next round of the competition.

Football Insider reckons United will give the green light for Williams to leave, but you can’t believe everything you read… Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t a lot of back-up for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, so are we really in a position to loan out Williams?

Hmm… Not sure.
