Video: Jason McAteer says Man United are in a “false position” at the top of the PL

Former Liverpool ace Jason McAteer doesn’t want to give Manchester United any credit for moving to the top of the Premier League.

Sky Sports have asked McAteer for his thoughts in the lead up to Sunday’s mega-clash at Anfield, only for him to claim United are in a “false position”, pointing out that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had most of his players available to him this season.

So, using McAteer’s bizarre logic it’s unfair on Liverpool that United haven’t suffered the same amount of injuries as the Scousers.

Well Jason, maybe that comes down to how Solskjaer has managed his squad this season, with plenty of rotation.

Solskjaer noted at the beginning of the season that it was going to be a long campaign and that there would be games for the likes of Donny van de Beek, who has waited patiently since the beginning of the season.

McAteer believes it will ultimately end up being between Liverpool and Man City for the title by the end of the season.

Let’s hope there’s egg on his face come Sunday after questioning whether United can do it in the big games.
