Amad Diallo names his two role models at Manchester United

Amad Diallo will be seeking advice from Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly following his move to Manchester United.

Manchester United agreed a deal to sign the 19-year-old winger in the summer, but his move to England was delayed until he got his work permit and only officially joined the club last week.

Diallo was at Carrington for the first time on Wednesday and got involved with first-team training.

The youngster trained with the first-team again on Thursday — but it may take some time until we see him in the senior side as Diallo has only played 35 minutes of football this season for Atalanta.

It’s probably been a daunting few days for Diallo, but he sees Bailly and Pogba as two role models to learn from, as revealed in his recent with ManUtd.com:

“Absolutely, Eric will be a definite reference point for me. I’ve actually already been in touch with him over the last few months and we’re been chatting.

“I’ll be asking him for advice and will be listening to all he says, and also the other players who speak French and Italian like [Paul] Pogba for example, he will be another good reference point for me.”

We expect Diallo will be eased in like Facundo Pellistri has — playing primarily for the U23s — but it would be great to see him in action before the end of the season.

The Europa League show give opportunities to Pellistri and and Diallo.
