Manchester United have learned their opponents for the FA Cup fourth round.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been drawn the ultimate test against domestic rivals Liverpool in a mouthwatering clash at Old Trafford.
United, 12 time winners, will now face Liverpool on successive weekends with the tie to be played between the 22nd and 25th of January.
The Reds will also travel to Anfield this Sunday top of the Premier League if they avoid defeat in Tuesday night’s game against Burnley at Turf Moor.
If United come through their fourth round tie, they will face the winners of Stockport County/West Ham vs Doncaster Rovers in the fifth round with both ties unusually drawn in the same evening.
United sealed their progression to the fourth round with a much-changed side in an uninspiring 1-0 victory over Championship side Watford.
Solskjaer would perhaps have liked to continue using the FA Cup as a vehicle for rotation until the latter rounds but we expect an almost full strength United side against Liverpool.

We play Sheffield United after this match while Liverpool play Tottenham so the teams both put out will be worth watching.

Liverpool or Cheltenham, who cares! We win, we go forward as simple as that. If we’re to be back as a big team then we should start beating big teams.
